Dude ispore that frame on that bike is sick dude. I love that style. Does that rear suspension make it heavy? God damn I wish I could post a pic with my message. It tells me I cannot upload the filetype that my pics are, yet I can upload them into my album on here. You guys should go check out the pocs of my bike in my gallery. Ill post the link at least.

Yeah dude for $40 that looks like a solid bike. Just go grab a more comfortable seat I suggest. No suspension on that bike is the only flaw I can see. Has quick releases, bottle holder, and looks to be in descent condition. I would go for it if I were you, and depending on where and why your riding, you can upgrape accordingly. Happy riding!

I was speaking of my bikes as being cheap, just to be clear on that.

Now that is a Kick ass bike!

All We Perceive said: What is the point of that sideways suspension? I always thought that was a sign of a cheapo bike. And why do you have street riding handlebars on that silver bike but mtb wheels and shocks? That's a crazy ass ride yo.
Im not sure what you meant on Side Suspension
But the Side Bars are an awesome add on to most any bike! Love mine!
I would find it hard to use a MT-Bike with-out them now days. Love the extra grip room and mount room.
I attach 2000 lumen flash lights and 1,000,000 Watt Stun Baton and a GoPro on my handle bar setup
Also can't live with out a Left hand side Mirror.
I have replaced everything on this bike at least once Minus the Frame
I have put around 5K mils on this bike ride 300+ nights a year in rain wind Snow exc..
Cops like to stop and harass me from time to time and it really pisses me off..
Its a cheap Mongoose.

That bike is amazing, I think there is a cheap mongoose for sale in my area maybe I should go for it

Shift through all of the gears and make sure it shifts relatively smoothly. Check for rust!!!!!! This is a huge one with old beater bikes like that. Make sure both brakes work separately. Make sure the chain doesn't slip between gears or in the rear gear system when you're pedaling. If those check out, I would buy it. I personally feel that quick release is the wrong choice for city/commuter travel as someone can jack your wheel in .05 seconds. Even the back one too. Make sure you have a lock with a separate chain thingy that goes through your wheels if you decide to keep the quick release. Also, you can use a bike chain through the seat rails if that is a quick release too so it doesn't get jacked. Dunno where you live, but bike theft is HUGE in Denver so I always gotta be watching for that shit.

I'd listen to [All We Perceive] on that one.. the bike is a little beat, but that doesn't mean you cannot get many good miles out of it

Thanks! I checked out some of the links! lookin pretty nice!!
Actually the frame is petty heavy all on it's own and its add a bit of peddle bod, but ya know what it makes it a little harder to use but that make me just that bit more bad ass
Seriously I have huge caff muscles

P.S I drank a 12pack of Key's and am a little F_cked up

The first bike may look "Plain" but it's composed of some nice parts.
Its a purpose built simplistic bike, Light weight and tough as nails

How do you like having a single speed? There is a bike for sale for cheap and I was just thinking about the idea of having a single speed mountain bike. It seems like less of a hassle as far as maintenance.

Well I have not had a single speed for some time now, Its nice for the Simplicity but sucks cause it limits your ability to fine tune the gears to the changing terrain/environments that you may encounter.
I like having at least 6 speeds.

I'm going bike shopping today. Car is kaput and I need something to get around. I was thinking mountain bike because I've always wanted to do some trail riding but honestly, I'll take whatever I can afford that looks quality.
I've also heard that MTN bikes require a bit more effort on the pedal because of the heavier weight? I have questionable knees from too many years of cross-country. Would a MTN bike be a bad choice for getting around town?
