Terminator 3
    #1691706 - 07/06/03 11:51 PM (20 years, 8 months ago)

Did anyone see it? What did you think?

I saw this today, i was surprised. Instead of rehashing the plot, they actually continued the story to its logical conclusions.

I liked it, was a bit cheesy, but overall a decent movie.

(Im biased, I like any movie about artificial intelligence)

I'd say.. Wait for T3 to come to the budget or out on video because it wont be anything near the 'hype of the summer' so save that money and spend it on something else or a better movie.

When she teleports in or whatever shes naked but shes kneeling over and has long ass hair but you do get to see a lil bit of nip. She barley talks the whole movie though.

It's not nearly as good as T2 but the movie has some worthwhile action scenes. Dont expect too much though.

I haven't seen it, But I just assume it's not as good because James Cameron didn't come back to finsih the trilogy. It's a damn shame, instead he goes off and makes some half-ass Titanic documentary for IMAX. He should of taken a lesson from Jurassic Park 3.

I thought T3 was horrible. The terminator holds his hand in somebody's face and says "Talk to the hand." Doesn't that pretty much sum it up? Jesus...there were some nice other classy lines such as "She'll be back" and "I'm back." I mean how much can the fucking play off of the classic line "I'll be back"? The movie was also a huge setup for T4, overly hinted by the Terminator's last line "We will meet again." And to top it off, where is the dramatic music? In T2 there was some kick ass music in the background...now...nothing. But there was some good action...and that girl was really fine...so I give the movie a little credit.

Yup, the talk to the hand thing was pretty lame, as were the various "back" comments. The one on levity was awesome, though.

thanks, BOBs. T3 was made for the grade school set, i'm afraid. my g/f & i took her 5-year-old nephew; he loved it.

if you feel a need to see it, wait to rent it.

True the music was terrible, thats the worst thing. And the "gay terminator" jokes were lame. The audience I saw it with was laughing loudly tho so it was still fun.

I was truly disapointed, this movie never should have been made. **Spoiler** It changes Cameron's whole philosophy of "there is no fate but what we make for ourselves" to one of destiny (it was John's destiny to lead the blah blah...). The dialogue was as crappy as any hollywood movie lately but of course the action scenes are slick. And I think when the terminator says "We'll meet again", its not a reference to T4, but to the time in the future when Arnold will kill John Connor (as he asks him too). Of course, the end of T3 is a set up for T4....and that just makes me cry. I'm it will be another computer generated piece of shit.

T3 is not a good movie, it was thrown together to make a quick buck (and Im sure it will make plenty) and suffers from the "hollywood" syndrom that's been going around. Arnold himself said he wouldn't make T3 without Cameron, but changed his mind when they threw $35 mil his way.

Besides, does anybody else agree that the T-1000 was way cooler than this new terminator??? That liquid metal thing was SO COOL and so much tougher. *sigh*....

True, but eventually they have to come up with a reason the terminators are constantly being sent back through time. Sooner or later judgement day has to happen, or the series would get very repetitive.

I thought it was terrible. It made a parody of the first two films. It had logical flaws which I just couldn't suspend my disbelief for, and some old old old goofy cliches, like when the Terminator is fighting his ... altered programming.

I don't remember the first two. I only really remember the one part in the second movie where the T-1000 (I think was the designation) shafts that dude through the milk carton and right through his head. I remember it quite clearly, actually.

Good times.

Quote:

In one scene, Connor and Kate are in a truck being chased by T-X in a over-sized vehicle that has a 100-ton crane attached to it; she really plows through the scenery! In the obligatory confined space brawl, the merciless T-X takes on the Terminator in a bathroom, creating the ultimate smash and bash sequence. Throughout all these encounters, just when you think the good robot has destroyed the terrible killing machine, she gets up and reconstitutes itself. Naturally, our sympathies lie with the Terminator whose curt humor and steely determination make him a likeable protector. If you want someone to watch over you, this is the model to order.

Two things can be said in this movie?s favor. Clare Danes delivers a strong performance as a young woman who rises to the top of her powers as she fights for her life. Second, it?s quite intriguing to see how the machines plan to destroy humankind ? by using America?s nuclear arsenal. While the Terminator, John, and Kate fight off T-X and her fellow machine terrorists, the biggest threat to their survival are the weapons of mass destruction stockpiled all over the country. What a surprise to see this piece of realpolitik in a science fiction thriller. You?ll certainly never hear it mentioned in any presidential debate!
