I notice that pinksharkmark has been modded now. While I have great respect for pinky, I was asked by Rono when I left to replace him as mod. Now, maybe I'm just a sore loser, but it seems that the choice of pinky over me might upset the balance we once had when Rono was a mod. Oh well.

hehehe. I wouldn't have edited that post, but if I was mod, I definitely would enforce the No Flaming rule more than it's been enforced since Rono left.

I'm sure I won't have to do much enforcing -- maybe a little reminding from time to time that people read the sticky thread at the top of the page. The recent flaming was probably just a real-life illustration of the "when the cat's away" syndrome. When there is no intervention by a moderator for an extended period of time it's not unusual that folks tend to monitor themselves a little less closely.

Pinky is an excellent choice as a mod...to tell the truth, I would have chose him first to replace me, but I was under the assumption that he didn't want the job. Silversoul would have also been a great choice...and I'm sure you'll get your chance....having said that, I don't feel threatened by the fact that 2 "conservatives" are modding the forum...Mods are chosen with alot of consideration by the rest of the mod/admin community. I'm just hoping that now Pinky is mod, he'll be too busy to respond to my posts.  (Kidding...Pinky is one of the few people here, that I actually enjoy debating with...Just wish I had more time to do it effectively)

Not sure if it makes too much difference whether they're left or right, it all depends on whether they're mature enough not to let the power go to their head. Once they get to thinking "Oh goody, I can edit the posts of that guy I don't like and leave all my pals posts alone" they're on the slippery slope down to what happened at the spirituality forum.
