Are these fuzzy spots on cakes normal? Also are fruiting conditions okay?

Hey everyone, I'm new around here and this is my friend's first grow. He used the pf tek and just birthed to a sgfc 3 days ago. The sgfc has 4-5 inches of perlite. The cakes were dunked for 24 hours then rolled in dry verm. He is using a 6500k light on a 12/12 cycle and mists 3 times a day and fans at least 4. Unfortunately the only space available for the fc was a closet. The door is wide open, however, and the closet is a walk in. Temperature is around 70. He is unsure whether the white fuzzy spots are normal or cobweb mold of some sort.

Those look fine, just the myc peaking thru your verm roll. Closets are bad news for FAE - they defeat the function of the SGFC. If you can, get it out of there. If you can't you're really going to need to fan and mist like a madman. I came back to emphasize... get it out of that closet if AT ALL POSSIBLE. You'll be happy you did.
Good luck

Cobweb grows extremely fast and is slightly grey ish, not pure white. Mist with peroxide and if the shit dissolves its probably cobweb. If it does nothing yer fine. More fanning and fresh air will keep cobweb at bay. Good luck.

With all due respect, I disagree with this advice. Peroxide is also HARMFUL to myc. If you're not sure you have cobweb (and I'd bet $20 you don't from those photos) then don't spray it on your cakes otherwise you'll just be stressing them unduly and they won't perform as well for you.

Easy way to tell if it's Mycelium... take your finger and touch the fluffy white, most always it will bruise. That would be Mycelium.
Cobweb is more grey and really whispy, so to speak.
But from your pictures, it looks like you may need to fan moar. Just a little stale air happening. And often times even with good FAE, the mycelium tends to do it.

Its just mycillium growing through the verm. It'll be fine but incressing FAE will prevent this

another thing, how can you tell if the cakes are dry or contaminated if there is a verm roll?

You will be able to tell by smell. and if it gets trich you will see it. Just pay attention. Also look up what trich looks like before it turns green

Gently lift the cake, judge the weight to what it was once you first birthed it. If it seems really light it probably needs dunked. It will also feel dry, its a skill you'll pick up with a few grows.

They feel slightly heavier from before they were first dunked but I am unsure. Would it be wise to dunk again?

You would notice if they were too light. I wouldn't dunk. It's only been 6-7 days in the FC. There fine.
