Anything by B?la Bart?k. Especially if you can find any recordings by Yehudi Menuhin of Bart?k's violin pieces.

Picking just one is really tough. So I'll cheat and name a few, as several others did. And deliberately avoid picking anything anybody else has picked so far.
Igor Stravinsky, Firebird Suite Franz Liszt, Hungarian Rhapsodies Antonin Dvorak, Symphony from the New World (9th) Edvard Grieg, Peer Gynt Suite
...and I can't believe nobody has yet mentioned Mozart

Bach - Toccata & Fugue in D Minor
Classical music is amazing to listen to while under the influence.

I agree entirely, Blastrid. IMO the Four Seasons is one of the most beautiful pieces of the Baroque era. And it is incredibly emotional! I don't know how you can't see the emotion in it. Or well I do... Just because it isn't Romantic sounding ie huge soaring melodies, lush harmonies and loads of rubato; that's just a different form of expression. In baroque times it was much more about the sound that was made, the purity and beauty of the tone, and in some ways this has been lost in modern performace. You should hear Jacqueline Du Pre playing Bach... it's hideous! She gives it a huge Romantic sound that is completely at odds with the music itself.
Back to the Vivaldi - also a lot depends on what recording you have... personally I really like the Nigel Kennedy one of the 4 seasons, but a lot of purists despise it. Obviously a bad recording can completely ruin a piece... check out some others.
Who was it that said true genius isn't about how much you can add, but how much you can take away?

A concert band I played clarinet in played this song, and let me tell you, it is an amazing experience to be a part of that. I had to hold back tears during rehersals sometimes. There is a strange phenomenon that occurs when that song is played, a sound, a texture I've never heard before in any other song. It was pretty incredible, thanks for piquing my memory

Download "Franz Liszt - Liebestraum piano.mp3". It's the best version I've found.

I don't know that this would be considered classical but it's still a wonderful piece of music. It conveys a lot of emotion, and I enjoy it very much so.

I have only just starte to get into classical, mainly since hearing it while on mushrooms. I love Vivaldi. At the moment my favourite is Vivaldi's "Concerto for 2 Violins, Strings and Harpsichord" when tripping it's like being on the inside of some rotating spherical mechanism type thing - it takes you round and round and up down and round, getting more and more convoluted until it all resolves back into the flow again
