Eating Shroom Cakes?

I have some stalled jars, just because I packed the verm and brf down in there and they're not budging..anyway... These jars are just going to be thrown out, but I recall hearing somewhere that if you eat colonized cakes, you can actually trip. Unfortunately, I have no mushrooms currently, so the idea kind of appeals. If this is just bullshit (what I heard) - or rumor or whatever, k... but if it's real (is it?) how much should I take? Thanks, Exile (hoping it's real)

I heard that too... run a search on it. There's some debate over this, but I believe a main point is: Don't eat a cake that has vermiculite in it.

I couldn't find any recipes on google, or shroomery - any ideas? If you know the recipe, please post... I'm not really concerned about how I have to ingest it... I can stomach a lot of things. Exile

ive never tried it but the recipe i heard was: blend with 100% cranberry juice, let sit for a few hours, strain vermiculite out with pantyhose and drink. be careful because according to people, its exremely strong.

http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=Forum1&Number=445531&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=all Also, do several searches around the shroomery. You'll find out everything you want to know. I've done this before, however it's not quite so fun as just eating the mush. I did it as one last trip, cause my parents made me dump my terrarium. (damn)

Please don't eat stalled cakes. They usually stall due to contams. If you can see no contams, then it is probably bacteria which could cause a serious toxic response.

my cakes wern't stalled, they were however going to get dumped anyway. I agree, dont eat stalled cakes. You could have some serious problems. Use cakes that are just plain worn out, or just birthed...

i read an account where someone broke up his cakes, submerged them in alcohol in a sealed jar, shook, waited, strained, and after evaporating the liquid was left with orange crystal that he and a friend said to be extremely desirable. (i believe i was ethyl but i've been informed that if you plan to fully evaporate to crystal as described, that isopropyl will work just as well)

I made tea out of some mycelium chunks and stem pieces once. Mostly chunks and not so much stem. It worked pretty well.
But my question is, if your cakes are stalled, why not carefully remove the un-colonized part and fruit the rest? It would be much more productive then trying to consume mycelium.

Eating substrates and smoking resin.. Sounds like a great time!
Make sure to season or marinate that cake.
