well it's the never-ending story. since we cannot figure life out once and for all and set sure-fire ways to act, we have to perpetually assess each motive or suffer the consequences of our inattention.

the good news is one can start doing this at any time.
the bad news is one can stop doing this at any time.

So would you say the only solution is death?

Or just get really good at being aware all the time.

yeah i can relate, i kinda did that with university too - now looking back i realize i probably should have picked something i was more interested in and enjoyed the process more. instead i just got high a lot, procrastinated, did everything at the last moment, then forgot it soon after  oh well...

I'm actually getting high a lot more then any semester, but I seem more focused on the classes.

i would often get high and not go to class as a result

though i had a few classes i really enjoyed and paid attention to - but most i was just doing the bare minimum to get by

Depends on your motivation is my guess. I'm motivated towards awareness and it has a basis in reality for me.

lol funny way to write it up
am I interpreting you right when I say that the forces which are in conflict do not stop when one is picked in the moment. it continues on as an unseen battle for supremacy?

 hmmm... yeh i think so. but i dont think the forces being in lets say 'open' conflict is a cause for pain, suffering self destruction. i think thats thats just how animals are.

i think when certain forces come to dominate to the exclusion of others, when conflict seems less apparent and 'closed' (you get locked into a closed circuit of desire) then you could be in some trouble... if that makes any kind of sense.
