A Book and a Movie
    #1687711 - 07/05/03 11:20 AM (13 years, 7 months ago)

The Book:

The Grateful Dead Photography of Jay Blakesberg
Between the Dark and Light ? 2002

Lots of very good pictures of the band we've never seen before.
Starts in the late 70's and goes thru 2002.

The Movie:

Magnolia. They're showing it again Sunday night on IFC. Amazing.

Magnolia is one of the strangest movies I've ever seen... Nearly as disjointed as your average David Lynch flick without being quite so surreal.

I think I need to see that one again, now that you mention it. I'm sure I missed a ton, just cuz my eyebrows were all screwed up for half of the flick the first time (as in "whhaaaaaAAA?").

What about monsters that go around telling jokes as they blow stuff up?

Magnolia is an ok movie. The raining frogs scene was definitely worth my time. I was also entertained by Tom Cruise's character.

I havent seen it by my sister said that there are all these storylines that you think are going to connect in the end in some meaningful way, but it ends up they just cross each others paths in the simplest way. Not very imaginative...
