breath and contams

how dirty is the average persons breath in terms of substrate/mycelium contamination? in other words, is accidently and briefly exhaling in the area of substrate a sure way of introducing contams (when not wearing a mask) or is this something that one shouldn't be too concerned about?

Correct.
It's safe to breath with your nose if you don't wear a mask.

Well, given the amount of crap that's floating about in most people's houses, it's probably not significantly worse.   If you wanna be clean about it, get one of those SARS-type masks, or just a bandanna over your mouth and nose so that you look like you're gonna hold up a bank.
