alright, all you experts out there... my friend's pf cakes are ready to be birthed, and he wanted me to survey ya'all about dunking. should he use tap water, spring water, 10% h2o2, mild bleach solution...? also, it sounds like many out there are afraid of the fridge. should he leave 'em in there in a paper sac, or avoid the fridge all together?

AFOAF has no problem using tap water, filtered water, spring water, any water and sticking it in the fridge. 10% H2O2 is the only one he has not tried. Just tape up the holes when you stick it in the fridge, some people worry about contam and that should prevent it well enough.

I always use natural spring water. I think its just cleaner and dosent have all of those nasty additives that you see in tap.

Agreed that spring water is the safest way to go. Just saying that in his experience there have not been any problems with tap.

Depends on how good your tap water is. If your tap water's good -- not hard or soft or with a lot of metals or anything -- then just use that. You might want to boil it for 20 minutes to drive off any chlorine and destroy any of the few organisms that might be in it.
Oh, and spring water really -isn't- the safest way to go. A lot of bottled spring water has higher bacterial counts than a lot of municipal tap water. Now, the -safest- way to go would be to use your PC to distill a few liters of water, after first driving off any chlorine in it by letting it steam for a few minutes...but that's just a little too anal.
