before or after you cased, ? are the cakes still in there?

5 cakes have been in for a week. its not realy bad but It is a little stinky. The cakes also look a little blueish but I nocked them over and thats where the blue is comeing from.

I am guessing you are using perlite in the bottom? If this is the case, add a goodly amount of peroxide and air out your terrarium more often, You can hook up a cheap fishtank bubbler on a timer for about $15-20 and not have to worry about it. If your setup is different , give a few more details and we will try and help.

smell? thats bad.. if its a smell which reminds you of really nasty food odor or rotting apples.. something like that.. then 99% chance your cakes are goners..
did they smell before?
a bad smell is allways bad.. heh duh..sorry.. i just thought that sounded funny..
that smell (if its what it sounds like it could be) probably is bacterial in cause.. which is only bad..

It is not that bad of a smell but a very strong mycelium oder, the mycelium is 1/4in. high and there are some growths.
