Water on the cake
    #1686819 - 07/04/03 06:03 PM (21 years, 6 months ago)

My friend is growing shrooms and he went out of town and asked me to keep the container the cakes are in nice and humidified. As I was over there making sure everything was going smoothly, I realized there was a small puddle of water sitting on top of one of his cakes that hadn't pinned yet. I was wondering if that would ruin the cake and not allow it to pin/fruit? Please answer this if you read it I need to know ASAP!!!

If you'll see my thread, AFOAF just had a contam problem caused by droplets being thrown out by his fish tank bubbler and staying on the top of the cake.

Thanks for telling me that, I just ran over and very very carefully used some tp to soak up the little puddle. But now my question is.. if that puddle wasnt on there for even a day do you think it will still contam or should it fruit?

No, probably it won't contaminate. Just pay attention how it goes.

Hopefully, your TP, didn't contam it.

It'll probably be fine though. Mine probably wouldn't have contamed if the top verm layer had been colonized.
