The Hawks Eye Experience
    #1686061 - 07/04/03 11:01 AM (13 years, 5 months ago)

It had been some time since I had ordered from THE since my microscopic studies were on hold due to other duties that took a chunk of my time.

I had decided to swing an order by Ryche before his closing of shop and to get some of his Ecuador?s since they were the best of all the Ecuador?s I have ever tried. Very classic to Stamets version and very stabilized.

I sent the letter on a Friday, got an email the following week that the order was being sent. We had a delay only due to some email chat we had about me changing the order a bit, but once all was done and order received I would give it a 7 to 8 day turnaround. That being I sent snail mail so that does add some time to the delivery. I got the package just 2 days after it was said to be sent. Now that?s fast!

Ryche is a long time loved vendor here with a true spirit. Maybe we can hope he may return if he closes, but if not, we all wish him well on his journeys, especially ole Alien here

Ryche Hawk and T.H.E. was the very first vendor I ever bought from way in 98. I still have the smiley face thank you card that the print came in.

Ryche Hawk has been around for a long time he is a trusted vendor of the shroomery. I have never heard anything but good things about his service.

Too bad he's closing up shop, but he must have good reason; the Fanaticus bust is enough to sare anyone, for sure. The bust itself might be largely a scare tactic, hoping others will, in fact, just give up the vocation out of fear that they'll be next. I heard of someone who got so afraid of things after the online head shop busts that she got rid of alot of grow stuff.

These busts seem to come in a very slow cycle over many years. I can remember way back when sssc (super sativa seed club) happened, then it was operation green merchant in the 80's that drove the hydroponic companies to back off to vegetable only advertising. Hydrofarm was hit I think and they stopped selling to people and distributes to grow shops only now. Now you got Canadian seed banks in full swing, hydroponics is plentiful, it never killed it.

I think they do it to keep things in check, because sometimes some of these companies do get a little daring. I am not saying its right or wrong, but that's what I think the reason is, to slow the pace, keep people aware that the government will not allow it to get out of control.

The one thing that I would say can be a positive thought in judging by these cycles, this may pave way to a quiet time again for awhile, hopefully for a few years at least.

I really think that it will never end now that I see all these people trying to get smoking cigs banned, fast food shut down, etc. I think its will just be this ever going cycle and if I was a vendor, I would just try my best to be good at it and play the game well.

<quote>The one thing that I would say can be a positive thought in judging by these cycles, this may pave way to a quiet time again for awhile, hopefully for a few years at least.</quote>

Perhaps, but we dont want to be part of the next government shut down cycle. I think in the U.S. it will only get worse before it gets better. We would just rather play it safe and call it quits. And when it gets quiet is when the DEA is probably building the next cases againts their next victims. Although we are not doing anything illegal we still dont want to get caught up in any long drawn out court battles. We have had a good run and made a positive impact to mushroom enthusiast around the world.
Perhaps one day when and if, the DEA and FEDS take a new more reasonable stance on God's plants and fugal kingdom, we will come out of retirement. Until then it is time to change paths.

We will still be around for about 2 more months. I will be sure and let everyone know when we are closing and when we stop accepting orders.

Thanks for all your support

I remember those smiley face thank you cards! I still have some. I kept them pinned on a buletin board for years, now they are in a box with old birthday cards and love letters!

THE is a class act, always has been not only a great vendor, but also as great of a community assett as could be hoped for. I would only hope that once he shuts down, he will be more free to post and rejoin the community as a normal member. I have long wondered how much he has held back or not had time to post as his business grew.

The Hawks Eye business will be gone and missed, but maybe we will regain Ryche Hawk as a friend and member.

Its been a long time since I have been to my getaway here at the shroomery. I have been way out of the loop as to what has been going on. Ryche, I will miss you and the chats we shared. You are a good kind soul who looked for a way to enlightenment and chose to share that way with the members of The Shroomery. Thankyou. Love, bluhoney
