AFOAF has 10 cakes of mex-cub about 50% colonized. He wanted to know whether he should case the cakes to 5 trays and crumble 2 cakes per tray. It is his first time growing. Or do you think he should case 3 trays and birth 4 cakes? He is willing to take the chance with casing and is confident he could pull it off. What are your experiences? Any info would help.

**do you think he should case 3 trays and birth 4 cakes?**
I would do this i think, gives you a better chance of success
and also allows you to try two methods and work out your self
what one you preffer for the next crop :-)
Good luck, hope all works out well.

According to the size & volume of the trays, 1 cake per tray should be enough. (If they are not too large.....) So it makes 10 casings.... But if it's his first time, i'd advise him to read the Cultivation FAQ before he births as cakes or cases them.

case it believe me works like a charm. Making a casing isn?t that hard and not that contam sensetive as many say. If you work clean in a glovebox u have an excellent chance of succes specially with 10 cakes .

It's not that hard, but you should keep some as cakes. Good choice on Mexi-cubs, those are fucking awesome, i wish i had some. Anyways... you need some spores anyways to keep your shit going. Plus even if you are really smart and research alot (i researched alot) you will probably still emss up a few times (i know i did) everyone does, it's trial and error. With that in mind, it will be really bad if you lose all your efforts over like 4 weeks by doing only casings. Save yourself the trouble, fruit a few as cakes.

Yes a good rule of thumb is 1/2 caings 1/2 cakes. Its all your choice but make sure you dont all casings. Cakes are insurance. Good Luck!
