Spore Collection - This is how I do it *NEW*

First, get one of these jars below. Any jar will work I just prefer these because they are shallow and makes it easier to suck spores out of later, and possibly fit larger mushroom caps.

Next, we poke 2 small holes in the lid, keep them as small as possible, just wide enough to get an inoculation needle through is perfect, but a little bigger won't hurt at all. One in the center, one offset.
Then, we make them both into injection ports by applying a blob of silicone over the holes. (I put silicone on top and bottom of holes) some people prefer high temp red silicone, but normal silicone can withstand the temps and pressure of a PC just fine, just remember to get 100% silicone caulk, not "siliconized caulk" or acrylik.
Example:

While the silicone is drying on the holes, get a fishing hook. (I use saltwater hooks, they have a rust resistant coating) I prefer big thick hooks, because I'm strong like bull. Any size will work as long as it has a decent barb.
Bend the hook to make it straight, then cut it so the length is about 1 inch to 1.25 inch total. I use wire cutters/pliers.
Here is the finished product, and it's phases.

Now that the silicone has gotten 10+ minutes to set, it is just right for the next step. We do not want the silicone to be fully set.
In your center injection port, push the non pointed side of the hook through the bottom of the injection port, so that it sits inside the silicone with none of the hook exposed from the top.
Here is what I mean:

Now you allow the silicone about 2 hours or more to set completely. The hook will be permanently locked into place.
We are now done building the collection jar.
Here it is completed:

Now the fun part... well it's fun to me.
Rinse the jar well, inside and out.
Fill with 1 inch of distilled water.
Close the lid, but DO NOT TIGHTEN. Very very important step here. Your jar will explode inside your pressure cooker if you fail at this step.
PC the entire structure, with lid loose, for 15-20mins at 15psi.
Allow the pressure cooker to depressurize, then as soon as you open the the pressure cooker lid, tighten your spore collection jar lid. This is to prevent contamination.
Now you're ready for some action.
Place your collection jar in front of a flow hood, or in a still air box or glove box. This is optional but highly recommended. Open the jar NOW while it is at the flow hood or in your box, you won't be able too when the mushroom is in your hand. (unless you're 3 handed)
Directly from your fruiting chamber pick a nice mushroom, using scissors or a knife, cut the mushroom from the substrate/case, but LEAVE 1/2 INCH OF STEM. Do not completely remove the stem as if you were doing a normal spore print.
This piece of stem serves as a handle, and we will never have to set the mushroom down on ANY surface, and never touch the gills, ever.
Now quickly move directly from fruiting area to flow hood or still air box. Push the top of the mushrooms cap tightly onto the hook, making sure the barb made penetration.
With the mushroom attached to lid, tighten jar lid, and let it sit for a few hours, or 24 hours, I prefer 8 hours for spore prints. Do not allow the cap of the mushroom to touch the water at any point. After the mushroom has released all or most of it's spores you can continue to add more mushrooms and make a darker and darker spore solution.
But keep in mind every time you add another mushroom, you increase chances of contamination.
Now that your collection jar has.. collected. You can prepare some 10cc syringes, and fill them with 9cc of sterile water. Then using the injection port in the lid (next to the hook port) suck 1cc of spore water to complete your 10cc syringe. 1cc of this highly concentrated spore water is more than enough.
Optionally you can add 2 drops of sexual lubricant such as astroglide to your collection jar before PC'ing to keep the spores in suspension. If not, you will have to shake the crap out of the jar before removing spores. If you plan on shaking this jar, you will need to flame sterilize the hook barb with a lighter before doing so, there could be contams on the hook from piercing the mushroom cap.
This can be stored with live spores for years, and can be labeled with strain, species, date, you can make many of these jars, as I have for every strain you use. You will never have to scrape your spores from a possibly contaminated surface, and they are now pre-hydrated.
Or, you can just print onto tin foil.

Additional Information: Aka "my trivial complexities"
If you leave your mushroom in the jar too long, it will become slimy and begin to decompose, if at any point the mushroom contacts the water, especially from decaying off the hook (likely bacteria causing the mushroom to decay) I would suggest you start over, the water is most likely heavily contaminated.
So check on the mushroom every 4 hours or so if you can.
Also if you're working with a glove or still air box, you can leave the lid cracked and let some of the high humidity escape and slow the decay of the mushroom.
But; dry mushrooms stop producing/releasing spores, so don't let it dry out either.
As you push the top of the cap onto the barb, and the barb makes a full penetration, try to rotate the mushroom slightly by twisting the "handle stem" this will ensure that the barb will not be able to slip out of it's entry wound (this is extremely unlikely to happen). Hard to explain.. let me know if this part isn't making sense to you.

I like the hook idea it is genius.

"What I call self-transforming machine elves.Sort of like jewelled basketballs all dribbling their way toward me. And if they'd had faces they would have been grinning, but they didn't have faces. And they assured me that they loved me and they told me not to be amazed; not to give way to astonishment. And so I watched them, even though I wondered if maybe I hadn't really done it this time, and what they were doing was they were making objects come into existence by singing them into existence."-Terence McKenna

Nice, I've always been kinda scared to make my own syringes from prints because it all seemed so non-sterile. I will definitely be giving this a shot.

FINE JUST USE TINFOIL FOREVER!!
Jk'ing, I fully understand, it looks a little (emphasis on little) complex, but after you do it once, you won't need a guide. You'll be able to throw a case of these together.
Especially if you bend fat hooks with your bare hands like me
Thank you all for the feedback.

That's an old tek you just rewrote. Also fuck that . Tinfoil takes 10 min and ziplock bags are even faster. (Inside of ziplock comes sterile)

Only difference is the fish hook.
Was just about to post that, when I seen yours. Cool hook idea though.. And foil is #1 to me, no way I'd pay shipping to send those in trades.
