So fruiting cakes to a chamber is a waste of time guys?
    #1685247 - 07/03/03 11:10 PM (21 years, 6 months ago)

Im wondering whats everyones opinion? Fruiiting your fully colonized cakes to a chamber and just dunkin them after every flush just a newbie way of growing mushrooms (and a small amount at that), or is it really a respectable growing option with respectable harvests?

It seems as tho I get the idea that "all the real men play with poo or grains and casings".

PF cakes are the easiest and surest way to go.

You can get larger yields by casing, but you run into headaches.

Look at some of the grow logs if you want more of an idea of whether cakes are 'respectable' or not.

Start with cakes to understand and observe the life. Cakes can (and will) teach you many things. The lessons they give are many, and vary from contams to spore dropping to rH.

Anyone who thinks that way totally has no respect for Psilo Fanticus.

do the cakes brotha.... it will give you the expirence you need, and u will get some results....

once u have a few grows under your belt you will be familiar with the "little things" that happen...

then if u wish, move on to bigger and better things....
i think most of us started with cakes....
some people just grow only cakes....

I grew 4 cakes for my first time !, I have 2 cakes each with a 3rd flush in them but other than that my experience with Koh Saumi is over , now as I move on to Tapalpa I think I am going to do a 6cake casing and a 4 regular cakes, and see how things go, I think cakes are allright but I would like bigger yeilds but I had 4 trips and I have about 1 fat one left in my jar o shrooms and some fresh on the way......not bad for 4 cakes......plus I gave some away to , got 2 friends high!

I like how casings have shroomies that come straight up, and there are a million things I "think" I will grow to like about casings but cakes are simple and the first thing I did to produce my own holy scrament so cakes like stunzii mushrooms(not the strongest mushroom I have picked but the first I ever found) are fucking great, hey who that uses shrooms wouldnt like to pick them of the table!!!!!!

Casing is a lot more hassle than cakes. YOu can't fuck up a cake as long as you have a good terrarium and don't get contams... thats pretty much all you need, there are many more variables when casing. I think it depends on what your going for. If you want to become the biggest dealer on the east coast (or wherever you live) then you probably shouldn't make like 1000 PF cakes, but if you are just getting your feet wet and trying to trip a little in the process, then cakes rock. I moved to casings before i knew what i was doing, and i do both cakes and casings now just because cakes are so easy.

A mix of both is good. When I started doing casings I would innoc 10 cakes then use 2 for a casing and 8 cakes. So then if I messed up I was stil left with 8 cakes.
