Spawn from Dry Grain Jar
    #16849616 - 09/15/12 01:59 AM (12 years, 4 months ago)

My friend said there was a single jar that had been missed and forgotten after sterilization - I don't know how it happened. They did decide to go and inoc it anyway, but should have seen the grain drying up before colonization could complete. There was a little bit of growth before the rye looks completely dry and colonization stopped. Is it possible to use this spawn and inoc g2g into new jars?
Fine if not, just wondering if it was possible. Thank you!

I would shake it first. Give it a week and look for recovery and growth. It really doesn't take a lot of moisture to keep myc growing.

Thanks! I think this jar has been sitting for awhile and I know I have shaked it before. Perhaps my friend  will wait a bit longer but I think they might as well try to an extra jar or two?
