contamination overgrown... is it ok?

SWIM has a jar that became contaminated by a green mold that got to be about the size of a quarter, but oblong, not circular. the mycelium in the jars slowed growth for about 2 days. then suddenly, the mycelium grew over the top of the mold. the mold turned a darker green color and has not spread since. the mold is almost completely gone. is it safe to continue with growing with this jar?

i personally would not trust it. some people dont worry about small problems like this on a casing cause of the side. but you have to remember that toxins are produced by these infections that are carried through the mycelium networks. If it has released its spores already they could be in other parts of your jar that you cannot see, and are just waiting for the right conditions to proliferate. If you expose to air or put it in the terranium you may be waiting to see your whole terranium turn green. what is one jar though really? i think it as an acceptable casualty. opening the jar would really screw it. i say chunk or throw in your yard or something. but i guess it wouldnt hurt to get a second opinion?

I definitely wouldn't eat it, but you might wanna try stickingit into a poor-man's terrarium when it comes time to fruit, alone by itself, so you can take prints off the shrooms.

Hey if its overgrown then that means the mycelium is just taking care of bissness. I would trust it but at the same time keep it to its self cause you never know.

Make a casing with that cake. When crumbled or cut, see if the contamination spread inside.

Yeah cut it up to get that shit out of there... if there isn't alot then fruit as a casing unless you got it out without cutting too much of the cake away.
