yeah I've seen a lot of people who don't case. and sometimes it's not necessary to case. but me as a perfectionist prefer to have a case. it's all about your opinion. either way a little shroom goes a long way. My way works for me ya know. Ill definitely try and post some pics for yall.

usually unless you're really good at balancing the pH in the soil gypsum and lime isn't necessary with this tek even then it only makes a small difference

from my experience, a casing layer is a good thing especially if you have trouble keeping the rH exactly where you want it.  also, when the casing layer isn't pasteurized/sterilized properly(and sometimes even if you did) it doesnt protect against contams, it actually makes your tub a little more susceptible.  while im on this subject i should also say that you DEF wanna use some cal carb or lime to buffer the casing layer.  not only will the correct ph be a little more friendly to the myc, but it helps ward off contams as well.

peace...

I will def look into it more. You made a good point. However I have always heard that peat moss is very low in nutritional value and tends to be a little less suseptible to comtam than just bare coir. Idk if its my methods of keeping everything sterile or what but my tubs literally have no more room at all for improvment. I am seriously thinking about buying way bigger tubs. One tub so far ihas fruits so big its pushing up on the lid and bowing it out. Glad I used tape. I have kept everything very simple and so far its been great. I'm stupid when it comes to computers . Posting pics is a problem for me at the moment. But I will have to put some on here to show u what I mean.

I purchased the tub with the interlocking lid and it is solid white, i could move my fanning from 3 times a day to 5 and see if that helps on my  other tub that is a week or so behind this one. Should i just invest in new tubs with clear lids?

Also, you can make any lid transparent by cutting out the center of the lid with a saw or razor knife then taping repeatedly over the hole to make a tape window, using clear packing tape, or by wrapping the entire lid in saran wrap. I've used both aforementioned methods with success.

its the lid that is connected to the tub and has two halves that fold into each other. i dont think it is open to modification, ill just buy 2 new tubs. Thanks for trying to help though.

Wal-mart has some great deals on transparent tubs, with transparent lids. I keep buying them.. and I think I have too many. I can't pass them in the store without making up a reason in my head to convince myself to walk out with another one.

I'm a sad sad mushroom lover.

Why do the made in China tubs have to be so cheap!?! And so perfect for mushroom growing. They are double the price at my local hardware store.  Made in the USA and the plastic seems to be stronger but damn do they hit my wallet
