Appropriate Monotub Container?

Hi there, long time lurker, first time poster.
I'd like to try a monotub for the first time. For reasons of discreetness, I'd like to use a tub that has an opaque body and translucent/transparent top. I found these at home depot. Is there any reason these would not be ideal? With the clear top can I forgo adding additional lighting and just use my ambient room lighting?

Thanks so much for your help!

IME you want a longer tub rather than a deeper tub, for more surface area

I don't see why not, although with those dimensions its going to take a good amount of spawn and sub.
As for the lighting, it would still benefit from a 6500k light but I imagine it would perform without it although not as well.

Just to clarify: Will I need extra spawn and sub because the height makes it harder to maintain humidity, or just because it's big?
I just want one of those elusive clear top, opaque body containers and this was the only one I could find.

well, maybe and maybe not.
you could try 5-6 inches instead of 4 and just do some heavier misting. but i think you should be fine.

The problem with deeper subs is thermal, especially in a mono-tub where there isn't a lot of circulation to transport heat. Tub size shouldn't have much effect on humidity, all other things considered.

If Humidity became a problem, you could always use the wax paper casing method to create the desired micro climate.

Any tub would work. Although, the holes need to be configured accordingly.
