can someone pls. clarify when the best time is to harvest---is it when the veil breaks or is it when the cap splits???? much thanx

There are 2 rumors around:
1. Supposedly the mushrooms either loose or not gain any potency after the veil brakes(something I couldn?t confirm)
2. Supposedly spores that fall on the casing or cake surface prevent new pins from forming(something I couldn?t confirm)

wow, fucking fast! ok, they get so big, and the fibers start to spread apart, and air gets between them as they get bigger and swell up after the viel breaks, thus the mushroom turns blueish, and loses potency, i know from watching my friend. heed this advice please.

the longer you leave them on the bigger they get right??? cuz my other-self has a casing around 5" in diamiter---but the shrooms on there are tiny all about an 1 1/2--- but theres at least 200 pins on there--veils are starting to break-----but like i said there tiny shrooms----what is the cause of this???

i think it has to do with alot of factors, my friend did get very big fruits off a 4 1/2 pint BRF casing. his cakes shrooms didnt get blue after the viel broke the viel broke tho, so you gotta give me more info to help you. but still, we've learned our lesson to not let the viel break anymore.

tiny casing=tiny shrooms usually. the depth should be bigger too. i'm guessing that the surface area was too great compared to the depth of the substrate you used.

o ----that must be it ---hn----used olny like 1 1/2 peat on top of 2 1/2 pints of myc...thanxs will use more jars----and deeper layers in the future!!!

awsome giants. my friends didnt get blue until they were picked and dryed. the open caps blued the worse.
