Sun Bathing
    #1684023 - 07/03/03 03:34 PM (13 years, 5 months ago)

What started out as a vain endeavor for me has turned into something slightly spiritual.   I decided that I want to get a nice tan this summer, so I have been laying out on my deck frequently to bathe in the sun's rays.

The spiritual thing about it is that I have never formally meditated, but laying out in the sun for an hour without moving is the closest to meditation that I have come.  At times I almost enter a trance-like state.  It makes me feel very calm and still inside.

Also, I always follow each tanning session with a nice, cool shower to wash all the sweat from my body.  I have never felt so clean and purified as I do after sweating in the sun for an hour and then taking one of these showers.  It feels like all the toxins are gone from my body and I am clean on the inside as well as outside.

Anyone have similar experiences?

Peace,

RebelSteve

I absolutely LOVE the sun. For the same reasons as you and many others. I almost always spend the majority of my mushroom trips soaking up as much sun as possible, it makes me feel sooo good. The sun is the source of all my power.

Try a 115 degree sauna for 20 minutes. Every pore in my body had opened, thats meditation enough for me. I hear some native tribes will sit for hours at a time in caves, they use red hot bolders to keep the heat at around 120 or 130, i think they call it a sweat-lodge. All in all the experience can feel very liberating, almost drug-like the longer you stay.

NO NO NO. The sun is bad for you! SPF 60, cake it on ten times daily, blocks gamma, UV and radiation rays from the evil orb, blah blah bla..

I like the sun, but cancer sucks. So do wrinkly women. Thats one thing that sucks, you see these young girls who always have a healthy tan, then they get all old and wrinkley.
