The stereotypical western idea of magic isn't real, yes. But I'd say there is a metaphysical nature to our ultimate reality that seems to be beyond the general grasp of our awareness. I can see some truth in chaos magic, as I think it's the power of the mind and not the supposed power of the ritual that may incite some "magic". It all depends on your own perception of reality, and how you choose to incorporate the possibilities of the intangible mystery.
so you're calling the unknown "magic",
i had no stereotype in mind, i wasn't thinking of like a wizard speaking in tounges and shooting zaps and zips from his finger tips with glitter.i meant that everything can be explained, and if there is somthing that currently does not have an explanation, calling it magic is retarded. might as well call it god, or demons
that's what they used to do before science let us know about germs and electricty and drugs and physics and generally everything that makes up our society. they couldn't understand it, so they were like shit dude there is no explanation because IT'S MAGIC
this whole internet thing, i dunno how it works, so imma call it magic.
i repeat myself, magic isn't real

I personally don't like to call anything "magic", because of the social connotations tied to the word; however, other people do. You shouldn't get lost in the definition of a word though. Because that's not what the typical magic practitioner has in mind when speaking the word. You have to try to understand what the contemporary thought on the subject of magic is. In my opinion, everything is "science", we just haven't learned to explain many of the natural phenomena that occur. Most people haven't experienced these natural phenomena though, so they write it off as hallucinations of the brain.

Well sort of. A particular school of magic was basically the predecessor to science. There has never been one school of thought on "magic". You could call shamanism magic for instance. Most folk religions incorporated rituals of some sort that could be labeled as "magic". There are some schools of "magic" though that are a little more elevated in though. If it weren't for Hermes Trismegistus who was the father to the Hermetic Orders, the field of science would probably not have occurred till many years later.

Maybe you've never had any results with them but I know for a fact that they are real and I am not going to argue with you about it because basically if you don't believe me then I really don't give a fuck.
I didn't know this thread was going to be a place to ridicule people in their spiritual practices

Well OK, yes I know they're real and they physically exist. They're just peices of cardboard with a little plastic pointer made in a Hasbro factory, next to the power ranger figurines.
But you're referring to the ideomotor effect, which again, yes, is real. I'm not dissing your spirituality, I'm dissing the fact that you cant recognize that your extremely powerful mind is creating the universe based on your desires and attachments to said spirituality. Same with everyone of a spiritual disposition. Christians see Jesus in pieces of toast, buddhists notice how all animals seem naturally sit in ZaZen.
But your cardboard and plastic playset from Mattel isnt summoning demons, your mind iS.

Yes it is simply used as tool to access, I have contacted spirits using home made boards out of paper and a glass.

OK, the next part you have to come to terms with is that you might just be contacting yourself anyways, and not 'spirits'
