There was no need to toss the jar that did nothing.. it may well have produced if you'd left it.

What are you temps like? Green spots are almost always bad.  Mycellium that won't properly recover after a shake is also often a sign of contams.  How many days has it been since you shook? Are you sure it was 1/3 colonized before shaking? A week from inoculation isn't much time for it to colonize. The jars look OK from what can be seen in the pictures though. Give em some time.

It always starts like that -
"Did I just see a green speck? Well maybe it was something else."

2 days later

"Awww crap"

Butt-Head,I'm use to seeing ropey mycelium so was not sure if there is anything detrimental that may cause the fuzzy growth...my lids are RTV inj. port/Tyvek which is held down with band-aid as per this tek:
Self-Sealing-Inoculation-Lids
I think I'll switch to SFD's or micropore/tyvek as I've had some issues with the band-aids coming loose after pc'ing.

Cosmic Fool,re-using the jars they were in seemed like a better option than waiting for them to play catch up at the time,I have no shortage of spores and figured I could do a g2g with the remainder...temps have been consistently between 76-86 or so,some were shaken at different times as they weren't ready but all have seemed to recover.

Kizzle,I guess only time will tell...it's so minute that it really can't be compared with any pics of trich that are in posts/faq's.
