Greenhouse FAE Automation
    #16835365 - 09/12/12 02:42 PM (12 years, 4 months ago)

There is a greenhouse setup, fully functioning able to hold whatever RH that the humidistat is set to, however, the situation is now different as exotic species that require more FAE are being cultivated. What is the best way to fill the chamber with fresh air? The RH is automated by the humidistat but FAE is still a recurring chore. What would be the best solution?

Thanks.

If you need more FAE cycles, you would need to set the fans to kick on more often.  As long as the humidistat turns on the humidifier to maintain RH, you should be good.

How does the humidifier push FAE?

It doesn't, it replaces the humidity lost when the fan pushes the old air out and the new air in.

I have a humidifier that pulls fresh air, but I still have a 120mm computer fan wired up to a timer that runs it 15 minutes every hour for FAE.

The humidifier controls itself separately, and whenever the FAE fan turns on (causing humidity to drop), the RH controller raises it back up.  The time it takes my humidifier to bring the RH back up isn't too bad, plus it's good to get the evaporation going every hour too for pinning.
