Help needed with PH

I have been interested in mycoology for quite a while now, I've been doing my homework however there is one area I am having a hard time getting information on. That would be substrate ph. i know how to measure it but i dont know what is optimum, what hydrated lime or oyster shells do or how much to use. some information would be greatly appreciated :grin:
