Feeding Raccoons Cyans
    #3657201 - 01/21/05 02:20 AM (19 years, 2 months ago)

I was camping this last fall with some friends who decided that it would be funny if they fed the raccoons which kept stealing our food some p. cyanescens with some peanut butter on it. I didn't think this would do much of anything, nor did I condone feeding the raccoons, however it occured never the less. They are crazy, if you are from the a place with raccoons, you know that they travel in family packs and are mean as hell. They will bite through bone, and they eat about anything. They snarl too when they are threatened, but in general have a cooing kinda sound they make. So back to the story. The raccoons dissapeared for about an hour, and as we were sitting by the campfire, the entire family came back, but this time they walked right up to us. The sat down by the fire, and I kid you not, tripped out on it for at least 10 minutes. This was crazy, I couldn't believe it was happening, they were tripping on active mushies! They were super docile and they laid around, letting us rub their bellies and pet their backs. They even let us pick up the babies and pet them. Eventually they went back into the forest, but this was a night I won't soon forget!

That's pretty crazy!  I'd be real apprehensive to pet a raccoon; there were lots where I grew up, so I know how nasty they are. I can't believe you could pick up the babies!  That makes most wild animals very angry.  Cool story!

amazing, maybe we should dose wild animals with mushrooms instead of tranquilizing them...

although feeding mushrooms to animals isn't cool (same with dosing people who don't know they have been dosed) this is an awesome story. that must have been a great experiance

I wouldn't dose my dog, but definitely a raccoon or a possum   I'm definitely going to try this on an armadillo or something wild down here in florida.  Maybe some of those small ass Keys Deer next time I go down there.

Is it only mammalian brains that are effected?  Like I can't make my clownfish trip right?

Raccoons are like weird weasel foxes. Their also mean as hell like you mentioned. But that's pretty insane man. I would love to observe non domesticated animals under the effects of psilocybin.

Raccoons are like the monkeys of north america. I could see them evolving to be more like us over time. PS this thread is real old guys.

Raccoons are fucking crazy.  They'd probably love the shrooms and sneak into your house/tent to find some more.
