I've done this quite a few times now, but it's been awhile. I decided to teach a good friend of mine the pftek technique.
Here are our jars. The jars with growth were done by me. Do they look okay? Like any mold or anything? I can't tell if cobweb is growing or not.
And why isn't there any growth in his jars? Is it possible he has limited to no growth because he packed them too tightly?

The lids have two holes, I just shoot at an angle to get all four corners. There is a dry verm layer, but no tape. Yeah, the jars are all kept on a shelf at around 72-76 degrees Fahrenheit. We had two separate syringes that I made myself. I've also done that many, many times before. Mine took off within a few days and his just never got going really. ::shrugs::

His jars have very little growth in a couple and there's absolutely nothing happening in the rest. It's been almost three weeks. I feel like it could have been a combination of him packing the jars too tight and maybe having the lids on too tight? (lack of gas exchange)
Also: In the second photo, the two jars on the right, they look okay? I mean, it all seems okay to me, but the mycelium looks a little thicker in certain spots on those two. Maybe even fuzzy? That's why I suspected cobweb \ spiderweb mold.

Start a new batch, ditch those.

Cobweb is Gray, and looks really stringy and fuzzy. I see no cobweb from the pictures you have up.

Awesome, well everything with my jars at least seem to be on schedule. Thanks to everyone for the help and information. We're probably just going to PC all his jars and start over. Perhaps I'll throw some fruits in here when they're done.
