A couple random Cultivation questions not covered in the RR video...

I haven't watched every last second of the video, but i've watched most of it, and its an excellent video, and I highly recommend it to any new mycologists-in-training. Well worth the price.
However, I have a few minor questions that I didnt seen an answer to in the video, and they are:
1.) A.) When doing a brown rice flour cake, can I use a very little bit of colonized rye berries to put in each of my BRF jars to inoculate them? B.) If not, can I use a small piece of fresh mushroom cap in each jar to inoculate them? C.) Which is better, or does it not even matter?
2.) After harvesting all my grown mushrooms from a rye berry spawn + verm/peat casing, and then re-hydrating by either spraying down thoroughly or dunking, what do I do then? Do I just place back in fruiting chamber as is, or cover with a thin loose layer of more casing material and wait for them to start pinning again? In this project im only looking for a 2nd flush, as this was an experiment and I have another project upcoming.
3.) Does my lighting during fruiting need to be directly over my chamber, or can it be on the side and still achieve the same results? I know with plants, they grow towards the light and it has to be overhead.
4.) One of my lasagna pans has what appears to be a trich going all through out it right under the top mycelium layer, but there is also a decent amount of mushrooms growing up from underneath. Are those still safe to harvest if I just cut them low on the stem and leave the base? I already removed this from my FC and have it outside, and its still doing a decent fruiting job thus far, but nothing big enough to cut yet and harvest, but I think another 4 or 5 days and they will be ready.
Thanks in advance for any help.

1. a) Don't think so. Maybe with access to a sterile room/flowhood. (wait for other opinions) b) Will contaminate. (Your making cakes way harder then they should be) 2. Replace into fruiting conditions. Either mist it heavily (if needed). Or pour a gallon or so of water over the substrate, let sit for 1 hour, pour off excess (if dunk is needed). 3. Light placed coming in from just off to the side of the FC is suggested. 4. You could apply a salt paste (search engine) to the visible Infected area's (it will not rid the Trich), but will give you enough time to allow fruits to finish up and harvest.

Thank you for tips. Im not trying to make the BRF hard, I just dont have a spore print or syringe right now, and didnt want to wait to make one up. I thought i could pour a little colonized rye grain in, but ill try making up a print tonight and go from there. Thanks again for your help.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this possible procedure?

You could inoculate a brf cake with grains(not a mushroom cap since it wouldn't be sterile) if you have a flow hood and can get the dry verm filter out of the way. You'd have to do all this without contaminating the rice flour below, which would be very hard. RR

They are both very doable with LC. Agar LC or Grain LC.

indeed, grain lc is much safer than openair g2g i think, silicone injector ports are the bee's knees
