How much indirect light? Perlite mix too much? Dunk in can?
    #1681853 - 07/02/03 10:57 PM (21 years, 6 months ago)

When I start pinning in a few weeks "hopefully" how much indirect light is ideal. Ive heard 4 hours and ive heard natural light cycle which would be ten or eleven. There are 8 jars. Also I got an opion that with my 2 inch layer of perlite a ten to one water to h2o2 mix is too much. I have a 10 gallon acq. And does anybody know if its alright to dunk in a meatal coffee can? Thank you all :rasta:

For pinning, I believe a lot of light is good (I'm not saying it's better than only 1 or 2 hours). But when you get pins. 1 or 2 hours of light is enough and your babies will understand in which way to grow. It's a fact that mushrooms grow faster in darkness. That's why you don't want to light them too much.

10 to 1 water to h202 is fine. I read in the faqs that this is the ratio most growers use. h202 is not so bad for cakes anyways since it breaks down easily.

Dunking in a metal can is fine. Never tried it but I just can't figure why it would be a bad idea. Of course, don't mess with a rusty can. That would be a non-necessary risk...

In brief, I think none of your concerns are actually *major* concerns.

good luck!
