does mycelium on agar need to be in the dark?
    #16815026 - 09/09/12 01:54 AM (12 years, 4 months ago)

I just started to get into cloning using agar petri dishes and im wondering if it is necessary to keep them in the dark or does it matter if it is in a room with light?

Doesn't matter.

Try identical cultures both ways once you get an isolate.  In almost all circumstances the culture exposed to ambient room light will outgrow the ones kept in darkness.  Even when petri dishes are stacked, the top one almost always colonizes before the rest.
