Pick em before they rot is outdated, or them turning back into mycelium is outdated? I really have not encountered many aborts before!
EDIT: sorry read too fast, didn't see your name and that you were already telling me things earlier in the thread.
One question: I will need to dunk these tubs soon. Will that fuck with this process?

I think you're a little confused. Aborts are dead. They won't rot before the end of the flush, that is a myth, but they won't turn into mycelium either.

Wait....what?
ya you dont have to pick aborts. they end up looking all funky looking and they stay there FOREVER but they dont hurt anything. and EVENTUALLY yes they break back down into mycelium just like if you leave pieces of shroom behind when you harvest
i pick a few to eat and leave the rest becasue i dont care
This is correct, and it's just another lingering myth that aborts rot. They do not, certainly not in the time it takes the rest of the flush to develop. Most of us pick off the aborts when we pick the rest of the mature flush. There's nothing wrong with picking them as soon as noticed, but it's not necessary. RR

Did noone else noticed how wet the surface looks and all the standing water droplets and the fuzzy mycellium at the base of the pins? Think this could've caused the pins to abort?

dunking is a must/ you have several options. i put a few quart jars ontop of the sub and fill them with water as I fill the tub up. it keeps them submerged. I then pour it off after 12 hours.
that doesnt meant thats the only or even the best way. some people say 4 hours of dunking is enough and im inclined to beleive them i just stick with what works. some people just leave the sink running at a trickle into thier tub for a few hours all of these stratagies probably work. but yes you definatly should dunk.

Well I have my own method for dunking these tubs, I was just wondering if dunking is going to affect this aborts-turning-into-mycelium thing.
