Here are pictures of my LP cased straight with 50/50+ and another of my LP spawned on horse poo and cased with the same 50/50. Notice the size of the fruits (AAA battery used for scale) very small in my experience, but this is my first go at thai strains. standard BRF PF tek. any suggestions???

I think shallow casings make for smaller fruits. how deep is urs?

about an inch and a half, thing is, I've grown B+, EQ's and GT's using this exact method and produced much larger (or average, I guess) fruits. I was just wondering if it had anything to do with the strains. After searching this and grow log boards, I've read and seen pictures of grow logs where thai strains produced small, thin stemmed fruits. I think I'll try a few today and report back with potency.
Small but prolific. not my favorite strain, but I'm sure it gets the job done.

Here is an updated pic of my LY. pf BRF cakes spawned on pasteurized horse poo (oven bag tek) and cased with 50/50+. Sorry for the poor quality pics, I lended my digi to a friend, so I had to use my camcorder. Notice the spiky, rhizomorphic growth on the sides of the casings that are reaching for the condensation, not apparent on the pics is the formation of pins; not only on the casings but on the strands of mycelia away from the casing. Also, notice that the rhizo growth is coming up through the casing layer and not on top, as well as the absence on cottony or fluffy growths colonizing the top casing layer - the result of proper air exchange. The flush is a little uneven cause I induced fruiting conditions a little too early (before mycelia thoroughly colonized in the valleys. but otherwise the fruits look picture perfect, look at the size, just one of the many benefits of bulk spawning. I didn't even put this casing in the terrarium (lack of space) so I just covered with a Saran Quick wrap and poked holes in the plastic with a syringe all over the top, keeps humidity up and provides some air exchange, although I fan it regularly. Works wonders. Enjoy!!

That rhizo growth is retarded. Soochi, i know a kid who grows Lipa Yai's, and he tells me that they usually flush small at first but then get real big. So on second + third flush, you might get better luck. Go check out www.thehawkseye.com for strain information, and look at their pics, then tell me Lipa's dont get big lol. They are HUGE like 6-7" caps

this is just my first flush. sorry i didn't put anything in the picture for size comparison. but they are quite large. much larger on the 1st flush than straight casing with 50/50+. Rhizomorphic growth is something you want when growing=healthy mycelia, so please, don't call my babies retarded.

I've always found LY to be small aswell.. this is some growing on WBS from a while back.. tiny fruits! Overall yield was okay though with around 12-14g dried per 300ml jar.. and potency was the best I've had from a cubensis strain

oh yeah, I forgot to mention potency. One word: Kick Ass!!! quite possibly the most potent strain I've ever experienced. I ate about 6 medium sized fruits, this plus no tolerance (it's been about two months, since last trip) = very happy time. I went to dinner with the folks and the drive there was amazing, the trees looked like they were on fire, waving around and vortex spirals all moving in unisen. I had Fat of the Land on my cd player and had mad CEV's. I saw an arabian palace and a clowns face with light rays eminating from his mouth. Wild, man.

lol. I didn't mean retarded as in stupid. I wouldn't say that, i meant retarded as in so good that it's ridiculous.

I sure did. Didn't eat much though, and the whole night I was just sitting there with sunglasses on listening to my mother talk about her trip to the Philippines.
