I'm assuming this isn't from a hydroponic store with trichoderma already added to it? If not this would be great.

They don't add trich. They add endo and ecto microrizal bacteria which aid plants in breaking down nutes.  Trich is trich and it's bad for plants as for fungus.  Trick add 1/8 cup h2o2 to damions coir tek no worries

Quote:

Several strains of Trichoderma have been developed as biocontrol agents against fungal diseases of plants.[3] The various mechanisms include antibiosis, parasitism, inducing host-plant resistance, and competition. Most biocontrol agents are from the species T. harzianum, T. viride and T. hamatum. The biocontrol agent generally grows in its natural habitat on the root surface, and so affects root disease in particular, but can also be effective against foliar diseases.

Have you ever ordered from them?
That price is great, but the store has some iffy reviews around the web.
I tried to PM you, but you only accept encrypted PMs.

I said I don't accept them. Or that's what I mean't. xD

I haven't ordered from them yet. But plan to very soon.

lnt is a widely known store where I'm from. I'm going to make a order from them in the future.

Here's another site that has coir for almost the same price. But you haft to spend $75 to get free shipping.

ITs around ten bucks for the brick I posted. ITs a way better deal than the stuff at pet stores, etc. That brink of beat peat is at least 1 cubic foot of coir in brick form. Its huge. You would need many 5 gallon buckets to use all of it at one time.

I buy coir in the eleven pound brick form (like the brick Tahoe linked to in the OP), it's by far the least expensive option for buying coir I've found.

An eleven pound brick of coir expands to roughly 2.5 cubic feet or 74 quarts, after you add 9 gallons of water (give or take).  Now, if you do the math, since a "regular" brick of coir expands to 8 quarts, and there are roughly 74 quarts of coir in the eleven pound bricks, that means that each eleven pound brick is the equivalent of roughly 9.25 "regular size" bricks of coir.

Take the least expensive option below (which is the $15.95 brick after including shipping costs), and it is the equivalent of paying $1.76 for a "regular size" brick of coir ($15.95 divided by the 74 quarts of coir you get = $0.22 a quart multiplied by 8 = $1.76 per 8 quarts which is what you get in a "regular" size compressed brick of coir at the pet store).

11 pound brick of coir for $10.35 - http://www.growannex.com/growing-mediums/pro-coir-bale-11-lb
11 pound brick of coir for $12.95 - http://stores.homestead.com/GreenPathGardenSupply2/-strse-165/Procoir--Coir-Fiber/Detail.bok
11 pound brick of coir for $15.95 - http://www.amazon.com/Compressed-Fiber-Growing-Medium-Block/dp/B003MOD2HY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1346651337&sr=8-1&keywords=11lb+coir
11 pound brick of coir for $20.55 - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004D441ZO/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00

Those last two links have free shipping.

If you REALLY want some serious bulk coir, check out these guys:
http://www.environmentalgreenproducts.com/store/coco-peat-coco-coir-coco-husk-fiber-pr-16340.html

Just $6.50 per 11 pound brick, but shipping costs are kind of high.  However, they say right on their site that they offer wholesale pricing, and you just need to call them to ask them what it is.

I'm only posting all of this because I just recently posted pretty much the exact same thing on another thread for a member who had an...interesting..predicament (needs 3,200 quarts of coir for cheap).  You can check that out here if you want to see a couple more links:

this statement is just full of bad info..

some coir is treated w/trich and h2o2 is useless if you have the right coir to begin with. :smirk:

I respectfully disagree 13shrooms.  I've used coir with endos and ectos for plant and fungal purpose for years... If I see the genetically modified trich I add H2o2.

Oh yes, the good ole days of schoolin noobs. There will be more to come. I just have to take it easy on them. They are a crying bunch of little p@$$#%@. The mods get overwhelming messages saying that I am a dick. Too funny.
I will be back for a few months. I have realized over the past year that I miss growing mushrooms.
Side note, I still question coir and its availability to cubes. I do see huge great yield increases but I am still not convinced that it is not from the excess of water storage the coir provides. Its worth using but I think i would rather use a horse shit or compost instead of coir. Now that is something the cubes love to eat.
