WBS colonization questions

Hey there,
So i've done cakes a few times in the past with great results and am now trying to do a tub. Trying to colonize quart jars of WBS with spores that i got from a reputable source that many of you know and that has always worked great for me before. The jars have been sitting in my dark closet in mid-70 degree weather for about 2 and a half weeks now and I still haven't seen any growth. I've tried to find info on this, have seen some people say things about too much moisture. There is definitely a decent amount of water, probably not dried to the perfect balance since it was my first time with WBS, but there are no puddles or anything real serious. I have micropore tape over the inoc hole so they get some gas exchange and such. I also shook the jars pretty hard right after inoculating. Each jar got about 2cc of spores. Can anyone give me some more explanation on exactly how much shaking and excess moisture (or other factors) can slow down WBS and whether or not I should give up and retry?
Thanks

Shaking is probably your problem. You want the spores to be as close as possible after inoculation since monokaryotic mycelium (unmated) colonizes slower than dikaryotic mycelium (mated). Your spores are having to work harder to find mates.

When you use multi-spore on grains you don't want to shake them after inoculation. The closer the spores are to each other the more likely they are to find a compatible "mate" and form a mycelial network. Shaking them spreads them out and makes this process take longer.
As long as there isn't pooling water, brown slimy spots, or foreign growth, I'd say there's still hope.

My lids are just a single hole i punched through with a nail (for lack of a drill) just big enough to fit a needle through and inocced through there. But yeah i suppose i'll just keep on waiting and hope that they're just goin slow. thanks

He has it covered with micropore tape, no polyfil.

Would too much moisture completely prevent the jars from colonizing or would it just make it go real slow?
