Quick question on fruiting

So my substrate is fully colonized and I've introduced it to fresh air using sgfc/dubtub technique. Question, do i need to start misting right away, or should I be letting some of the moisture evaporate to induce pinning? I read a post where RR said that the evaporation of moisture from the substrate is a key factor, but I was under the impression that it needs FAE and misting.

let the standing water from the fresh birth evaporate from the FAE

After you've noticed most of the excess water evaporate, then you add misting to your regimen.

So after I stop seeing so much condensation or bits of moisture on the surface area that would be the proper time to mist lightly?

Alright, so no misting until the babies are born. How long does dub tub/50/50 usually take to pin? Week or two?

Alright, it's been exactly seven days. Still no pins. I'm not sure if I hyphal knots growing, but I do see mycellium clustering in more concentrated area's. My humidity has been a a steady 80% using a 6 qrt dubtub with wholes drilled 2" apart using the tek. I don't believe I need to manually fan since the fc should provide fae on it's own, however I have been manually fanning since it can't hurt and just provide even more fresh air exchange.
I'm just starting to get worried. I've made it this far with no contams or anything ,and it being my first time to do this I still haven't captured a confident "Feel" for it. Is there a possibility I'm doing something wrong? Should I just be more patient and keep doing what I'm doing? Oh, the temperature has been about 72f throughout the whole time as well.

Also, I've been maintaining the humidity by misting the side of the top tupperware since that's the only way I can keep it at 80%. Is there any method of getting higher humidity with tubtubs?

Misting is for replacing lost moisture... And evaporation from FAE which is a major pinning trigger... Pics would be nice. How loose is your Pollyfill. I think 85-90 Humidity is what Tubs are usually at. I've never measured mine.
EDIT: I know. Get some wax paper crumple a sheet large enough for the surface of the Substrate. Open it back up and lie it on the substrate. Bad ass casing layer, which creates the micro climate. Stuff works.

You see, I'm confused if I should mist at all until signs of pins, but also like I said, if I dont mist then I feel like I'm losing humidity There is no polyfill. I'm pretty much going off this design http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/16711149
Are you saying I shouldn't mist until pin formation? What about the surface drying out? That's the only reason I've misted lightly is to keep the surface from drying. And my hygrometer is a cheap one so I can only assume I'm getting a ball park reading. Should I have done polyfill holes at the substrate layer

Misting isn't to raise humidity, it's to help keep your substrate hydrated. Ohh I see what your using. You could probably be fine misting if it appears dry.
Shut off or move the Tub from any Fan or Air source. I've had that cause me some problems.
And I actually like those Hybrid Mono's better then pollyfill method.

QFT. Should help your pinning.
You could raise the RH of the area providing FAE. Though I've no idea how feasible that is in your situation. 80% is a bit low IMHO, but should still put out fruits.
You'll learn more every grow, especially the failed ones. Patience.

So just plain ol' white wax paper? What exactly does it do for the grow? And just lay is loosely on top of the surface? No tuck in or anything?

It creates the desired Micro Climate. Does the same thing as a regular casing. But less messy.
Yes to the rest.

What about Light and keeping the area moist? Should I take the wax paper off and just put it back on?

If you have adequate lighting you'll be fine. Lighting isn't a major pinning trigger. Those are, in order, full colonization of the substrate (+consolidaiton), FAE, and evaporation.

Alright, here's what gets me. How are you supposed to maintain good humidity using the modified monotub with holes drilled? Do most growers put here tub in a room/greenhouse to achieve this? I've looked around and can't find any answers to this.
I have mine on the shelf in my backroom. Is this bad?
