Adding water to bulk substrates, post colonization, pre flush
    #16797522 - 09/06/12 09:10 AM (12 years, 4 months ago)

I prepped 2 27 quart MSG tubs using Demians5050 coir tek.  My verm was VERY fine and it seemed the sub came out a little on the dry side, but it was my first time so I proceeded as it was later to learn that fine verm requires a bit more water.

Fast forward to yesterday, one of them started pinning a bit early and a few VERY dense fruits matured at about the size of my pinky.  Figured the small fruit size could be due to a dryish substrate.

So I pipped in 240 Ml of water (4x60ml syringe) down the sides of the tub, all around, to give it a moisture boost.  I did this to both tubs.  I searched a lot for dunk teks, etc and read that people sometimes did this post flush, but what about preflush?  Is this okay or was it a horrible idea?  240mL water isn't that much, considering it is only an additional 1/4 quart of water for half a brick of coir.

For Bulk Substrate or Mono's.
Pour a gallon or so of water over the substrate.
Let sit for 1 hour, then drain off excess.
