A few questions...

Don?t know if anybody would be able to help me out on this one but I figure it?s worth a shot. I bought a pressure cooker a couple of months ago and have used it a dozen or so times. Well today I took it out and fired up the stove and when I placed all the jars in and put the weight on (after steam was escaping) I was unable to get a seal. After it cooled off I took a look at the seal and noticed nothing out of the ordinary, there are no cracks and it still looks brand new. Well I tried a couple more times to get this thing to work and still nothing. I have steam escaping from all sides of the pressure cooker, so no pressure is accumulating. Anybody have any ideas? Also, another quick question. I was picking up some BRF and Light Corn Syrup and noticed a bottle of Brown Rice Syrup. Anybody try this in a liquid tek before? The ingredients were Brown Rice and pure filtered water. Thank you for any help.

are your jars to tall for it to get a good seal ? is the rubber seal dried out or cracked ? are you sealing it up before it gets hot ? not dogging you, just trying to help.

I thought that at first, It was full to the top with jars. I took them out and got the same thing. The seal is not dried out at all and is still just like the day I got it. I am placing the lid with seal on before the water heats up, then when the steam starts to escape out where it is supposed to I place the weight on. Oh and I will try that Brown Rice Syrup out when I can get my pressure cooker working :wink:

NEVER, NEVER store a rubber seal pressure cooker with the lid on!
The gasket will compress over time, and you won?t get a seal anymore.

Take the gasket out and manually, slowly stretch it so it becomes "thicker" again and be careful in the future to not let it happen again.
