Attempting to grow-Cubensis B+ Exxperiment
    #16778138 - 09/02/12 06:56 PM (12 years, 4 months ago)

I got a B+ Spore syringe and a Spawn bag from mushroomfarmer.com, I have inaculated the bag and have it sitting in the dark in the attic.  Its been about 4 days since injecting the spores, I am waiting to see any signs of mycillieum (Typo?) forming in the bag. I can see little water driplets which is prob the gas exchange from the micron filter patch.    Wish me luck

Bring that thing out of the attic bro!  Bags of colonizing mycelium like a normal room temperature (70f to 80f) environment with ambient light.  Just set it up on a shelf or a table.

How is this an experiment? People do this everyday. Did the bag come already prepared, or did you prepare it? Also, light benefits almost all types of mycelium.

The temperature in an attic on a hot summer day can get in excess of 130º I hope you didn't kill the little guys.

I have to agree with the others. Above 85 degrees p. Cubens. Doesn't like. Light is debatable. I think not necessary till u fruit. Anyway GL!

Light has been proven beneficial to the growth of mycellium during all stages.

Why would we be wasting our time telling noobs this every single day if it wasnt true?

Optimal colonization temperature is 75 to 81 degrees F (In other words, room temperature or a little higher if you're cold blooded). I like to keep mine in the cabinet above my fridge where they stay about 74-82 degrees at all times.

I also fail to see how this is an experiment, but good luck with your grow mate.

I remember I had one b+ on a 5th flush that was about  18? inches.  It was awesome.  I had to take the lid off my tub to let it finish. hah
My multisplore came out with less of a potency than I would have liked but they were good and put out like a whore.  enjoy.

The bag came pre prepared and sterilized in the mail, All I did was inaculate the bag with my b+ spores. after it colonizes you cut the top off the bag and spray water in it with the included bottle.  Guys how long does it take to see any sign of mycillieum growth?

From spores it can take up to 14 days to see growth.

Ok, Thanks, its been about 6 or 7 since Inaculation and I was getting worried because I havent seen any growth.  Im actually very excited to see what this bag can bring me and it was kinda pricey altogeather and would suck badly if I got nadda out of it

A pressure cooker, a box of 1 quart jars, a tube of RTV silicone, and some SFDs will save you a lot of money on spawn in the future.  Pre sterilized bags and jars get expensive fast.  A pressure cooker can be a big investment, but it pays for itself pretty fast in savings.

Hiding in attic, now in a cupboard? Sounds like someones parents wouldn't be pleased if they found their grow?

Bro Im 22 Years old and I Rent a room out at my older sisters. We have 3 floors, mine is on middle floor and did not have a private space in there, the attic is alot warmer, not smoltering but has what i thought would be a decent temp for shrooms, But id rather have the bag close by so I now put it back in my closet. Im only bugging because I havent seen any mycillieum but Im guessing im being too impatient

Learn to spell. Also, if you don't have permission to grow in someones house, don't grow. Not only will you go to prison if caught, you'll be risking them going too.

Sounds like you did everything right bro. Don't be worried, expect 2 weeks until you see any signs of mycelium growth. When you see a brilliant white growth about the size of a penny, shake that shit up to distribute the spores, after this, colonisation will explode and should be finished over the next 2 weeks. B+ is a forgiving strain, one of the easiest to work with imo...
Good luck :bigjoint:

Are you spawning to a mini mono? Grains don't perform on their own.
