Mazatapec growing very slow

Hello! A few weeks ago I got my mazatapec growkit from Azarius. I covered the sides with ducktape to prevent shrooms from growing up the sides (as the best thing is to not be having to remove the cake from the box)Now more than 2 weeks later I got some small shrooms coming up. The problem is, they have been growing for around 3-4 days now and they're still very small.
Should I remove the ducktape from the sides or what? Please help!

They probably need some FAE (Fresh Air Exchange). I don't know how that growbox is designed but if the mushrooms have no fresh air and are suffocating then they will hardly grow at all.
Also is the mushroom cake hydrated enough? If the cake isn't hydrated well enough that could be another reason. If the duct tape isn't blocking air flow then it shouldn't matter.
You should take a sporeprint off there and try to grow your own PF-tek style from now on...

Unfortunately I live at my parents house still and growkits are the only way stealthy enough

Ok one week since I removed the tape and I cant see almost ANY change. What should I do? Complain to Azarius? My B+ kit grew very well under the same conditions as this kit

i assume since you live with the rents you have your kit stuffed in a closet. if thats the case no matter if you take tape off or not its still not getting FAE. also FAE works wonders if you open a window for few hours a day

My advice, is get your own place. And do it the right way. Do it yourself.

Anyway, back to topic. What should I do?

N00b question but what do you do when you mist it?
This is how my kit is standing at the moment:

Take that bag off of it. Start fanning it a lot. Cover it back up when fanning is done. If it's too moist you wont get good results. It may be too late though.
If there are any decent sized caps, try to take spore prints from them and make your own syringe from them like others said. It really isn't harder to conceal a pftek method than what you are doing. In fact I think it's easier as you can store jars in your closet or somewhere easily while they colonize. Then when it's time to fruit them just make a small fruiting chamber from a small storage container or you can even fruit 1 or 2 cakes in a garbage can.
In my experience, headshops don't have any clue what they are doing when it comes to shrooms.
Good Luck!

I'd try making a couple dozen 1/4 inch slits in the canopy. Say something like 6 per side right above sub level and the same at the top. Also fan and mist never hurts any fc fae is very important.

make the neccessary improvements to your fc.. and keep in mind that maza is one of the slowest colonizing strains but is well worth the wait, and usually has mainly small fruits.. sometimes really small.

Notice all the pins on the side. Would it be a good idea to take the cake out of the box and put it into a bigger container? (even though thats against the instructions)
