Is heating pad drying jars out?
    #1676317 - 07/01/03 09:03 AM (13 years, 5 months ago)

afoaf used a heating pad for his incubator. jars have been in it for 3-4 weeks and are 75% colonized but have stopped growth. did the heating pad dry his jars out? should he just spawn these and cut off the uncolonized areas?

Shake it OEWA

Don?t think it can dry out after 3 weeks that would have started faster but still best not too heat them direct.

is it true that heating pads dry jars out more than an aquarium heater would?

I suffered PF cakes drying out in the colonisation stage from the use of a heat pad. It was making some of the cakes go blue. It was though, a hydro use heat pad so it had a fair bit of grunt. I made some chicken wire trays to elevated them off the internal floor of the crate and that alleviated some of the problem. Then 12CC injected, dunked 24hrs, double cased and the flushes improved. The double crate with a fish tank heater is much better, you can regulate the temp with certainty. Recycle the heat pad for beer brewing.
