The one of the peacock facing away with the cape of psychedelic tail feathers is insanely beautiful. Every picture is outstanding as always.

A few from the past few days. Went backpacking with my old college roommate for his first time, was a good time in a beautiful and new location for me. We found a waterfall, in the same area as these pictures, that was ~15 feet back into a cave. I had to get my headlamp out to walk back there and find it, it was splendid. Unfortunately, there was no way to snag a picture of it..

I tried to ID this guy just by comparing pictures from online. The two that are the most similar are the prairie kingsnake and the bull snake. Anyone here know their snakes and can lend a hand?

A cool inverted flower that I found and determined to be Dodecatheon meadia (shooting star)

Triodanis perfoliata (Venus' Looking Glass)

Amazing stuff Dogem and Legend. That campsite looks beautiful, would like to trip there or something. I've tripped inside a cave before and it's actually a good environment, you feel so safe, at least I did. Which helps you let go a bit. You don't feel like you're being watched.
Some of my latest adventure:
I got a better shot of the Alligator eye B&W
 Color

Nasty hiking through this

I went for a short hike few days ago, and the place was ablaze.

The wood walkway use to be here! I like dirt under my feet better anyways.

The tree fell right in front of me

Coastal swamp/marsh area

Magnolia

Amazing Glorioso flowers

Had to take one to play in the black light with

Passion flower.. played with it too.

Great stuff from everyone. I love catching up on this thread.
I'm sorta back, but the last couple weeks have been hectic, and it won't let up for another week or two.
Here's all my stupid shit loaded up for FL. 15 hour drive in something almost as large as an 18 wheeler, and I've never driven anything larger than an average pick-up, nor a trailer.

And here's my first few Florida pictures that I've taken, though I only had time for a walk around the neighborhood. I gotta familiarize with the local birds, though I do recognize a couple of these.

Awesome! Those are great photos of the baby moorhens.
What lens are you using for your bird shots?

Thanks Midnight. Here I was thinking these were coots. The birds are all different here, and I plan on learning them soon.
This is just the kit canon 250mm. My big lense is down for the count, and I'll probably just save up for a canon 400mm-5.6

I visited Megan's family up in Iowa, here's a few quick shots from that week. I'm rushed as I'm headed to the beach now.

Thanks, Tmethyl.
Here's a few more.

That finishes up the Iowa trip. I'm almost caught up on all my pictures and pretty well settled into the new home. It's raining outside, so pretty soon I should be looking for some FL fungi.

I can't get enough of that, keep it coming!
Heres some stuff from today: Hiking, swimming, etc. The area in the photograph is an abandoned phosophate mine I found recently, turns out they dug so deep they hit the aquifer, thus the blue spring water.
The cat shots are done with flash and certain angles to capture the reflective areas of the cats eyes

Awesome shots everyone. There are some truly amazing photo's on here, my favorite thread to check.
I love the black and white photo of the the black bird, domesticgnome, great shot!
Just a few random ones. Made a day of riding my bike out to this location, then ran the trail to the cliff, read a few chapters in my book, and then hit up a winery on the way back. Such a beautiful and uplifting day.

I like that view Dodgem. That's a good place to put the peace pipe to use.
I wandered around the power station yesterday. This is what I got, but I'm sure I'll find better vantage points in the future. I couldn't pick a favorite, so you get three pics of the same subject.

I caught crabs!
