These are all from my 50 mile bike ride I did today. Stopped at a couple wineries and a awesome lodge/restaurant, and a few other cool places along the way.

Hey e'ryone. 1st post, found the site through a google search for what mushrooms grow in North Carolina. Couldnt find a member intro section, so Im choosing this thread!
Originally from NorCal (Sacramento/Citrus Heights) but now working out of Ft Bragg, NC. Recently putting the hiking boots back on after several years of stagnation and am trying to find beauty in NC, outside of Fayetteville
So far Ive been to Purgatory "Mountain" and Raven Rock here in NC, and figured Id bring my little cannon point n shoot and get some nature pictures. Well, when 80% of photos seemed to be of various Mushrooms and Fungus, I figured Id stumbled "back" onto an old hobby. I mean sure, I can take a picture of a tree, so can thousands of other folks. But that little mushy, he's only around for a short time, and I find that Im really enjoying macro photography.
I mean Im in NO way pro, or have any kind of good equipment (again, cannon point and shoot) but getting out in the trees, breakin a sweat (NOT hard in the humidity here) and pokin around for some mushrooms seems a good a hobby as any right?
Preaching to the choir, I know, anyway, here are some pictures I got on the couple hikes Ive gone on recently.
I have no idea WHAT any of these are. I did just grab a copy of the Autoban Society Field Guide to Mushrooms in North America, and a little celestron microscope so I can start identifying what I find. Id love to find something on a trip that would send me on another trip, but even just photographin, extracting and identifying what I do find is fun for now.

Sweet bug, what is that machinist?
Hah, here is a little grafitti near one of my Wild Ovoid spots, looks like someone had a bad trip.

Also found this cool shit in the woods.

This unopened can of tea washed down by a flood clued me into a new Ovoid spot a couple years back. See the little pin on the left? Also notice the cut stems near it... Wonder what happened....

Random Outdoor shots.

Did another ~35 miles of the river to river trail by me ending in the Mississippi river, leaving me with one ~50 mile chunk to finish starting in the Ohio river. Then I will hopefully do the total ~155 mile trail in one try sometime later this year or early next year. My phone was low on battery so I missed a bunch of awesome photo opportunities, but I will get them next time around hopefully.

Great impressions, thanks for sharing! What are the other mountains on the third picture? Mt Adams and Mt Hood?
