Theres so much emotion in those mushrooms, i really like it as a family portrait of the species. I want to crop the picture, the subject is small compared to the frame, but i cant see, to bring myself to do so.

That's what I'm talking about Tmethyl. All of those are good, but there's a few that are nothing short of brilliant.

All done with the built-in flash and a DIY diffusor. Ive been really impressed by the diffused lighting myself. The shadowing is minimal and even absent in some cases. Also went as high as f/32 in some shots, cacti are tricky to focus.

Wow those cacti shots are fantastic! I would think about taking down the saturation and contrast atiny bit.

Thanks Joust, learned a lot from watching you. You're the go-to macro wizard IMO. I ran most of them through LR5, but only made adjustments to the local contrast(clarity) in an attempt to sharpen them up without resorting to focus stacking. The high saturation is likely due to a polarized filter on the lens which removes the glare of the flash pretty dramatically. That allows more color to be visible(much more than with the naked eye) and as a bonus having no glare also increases contrast, depending on the texture of the subject.
On a completely unrelated subject, I just shot some Armillaria and the shots are so good! Will be sharing tonight. I used a really unique technique.

A few from the past couple days. Rode some trails with the pup a couple days ago and then rode to a winery today, perfect fall weather.
For some reason we have a little bamboo Forest area by our campus. I would say there were a couple acres ofjust bamboo trees, pretty cool. Thought I was lost on China for a second.

How did you work that fingerprint, It's glorious and that last pic! I love your shit bro!
Just please brighten up those few dark pics a bit. It will appeal to the masses. I've had to rework all my pictures the same way and even change my exposure. Just because you like it dark, doesn't mean the rest of the world does.
I like them and get what you're doing. That's just the way it appears to you(and me) Just if you want a picture to sell, then you have a select few to just brighten the exposure on.
Again, great shit and i'm following you're pics here and there.

Which ones are showing up as too dark? They all look fine on my monitor, I recently used a professional calibrator on my monitor and made a ton of adjustments, the only one I see a brightness issue is on the first shot of Armillaria, it's certainly too dark.
The fingerprint is on some nail clippers, I just turned the flash off and stabilized the camera. The flash was washing out the print.

Beautiful Sunday for some trail riding on a new trail for me. Stopped by the spillway of a lake near the trail and hiked around there for a bit too.

Never quite conquered this thing, got down all the planks but had trouble with staying on the actual tree part. Slid off probably 5 times and then gave up since it was ~8 ft. drop in the middle of it and I was by myself out there today. Gonna have to head back and finish it sometime soon, plus that was my favorite trail to ride so far so can't wait to go back.

Couple nice ones scenic overlooks. And yes, that is a monster cross in the 2nd picture ha.

And then a little umphreys couch tour on the back patio last night. Finished the night off with some Halo:CE out there as well.
