I am so jealous.
It rained here last in approximately May. I can't recall exactly, since it was so long ago.
Temperatures are forecast for over 100 all next week.
If it's ever an option to move north, I plan on it.

Didn't have a camera on me, but stuntzis are up in Portland! My Ole reliable patch is pushing them up slowly but surely. Unfortunately the patch is in a highly populated area and getting pictures without drawing attention is going to be difficult.

Psilocybe azurescens pins...

Same cluster from different angles:

And what these looked like just 5 days ago:

These are growing fast, probably due to the warmer temps. What is particularly cool about these early pins is that stick is one of several washed-up driftwood pieces I picked up on a trip to the coast and dropped in there for the myc, figuring some wood from its native habitat would help. The myc has such a grip on the wood that if you attempt to wiggle it, it doesn't move.
Different clusters:

Possibly some aborts there in that last shot.

Yeah watered it about once a week or so in the summer. I've been increasing the watering lately as fall is setting in. It's also out of direct sunlight.

So is the season up there already starting up & looking good? How is Seattle & the surrounding area been so far?
Me and a friend from NY are trying to plan a trip (I'm in Utah "UGH" right now) up there to do some hunting. Though she would only have a week to fly from NY and meet up with me so we can do some hunting..... which has been a long time dream of hers.
Can anyone give me some good advice on best timing & all?
PS. I may be driving up this week, but first need to figure out decent place to live and perhaps pay rent for a month or so. It would be great to meet some cool mushroom enthusiasts in the process.
Thanks a lot & happy hunting.
-------------------- "JUST FOCUS ON THE PRETTY STUFF" is what THEY clearly said to me while on fresh picked cubes in Florida. I was reflecting on stupid common life problems I had at the time, but luckily friendly little "cosmic critters" intruded, interrupting my lame-brain moment with that short & simple message of what I now see as being pure universal GOSPEL TRUTH for all of LIFE. That profound little event instantly changed & brightened my whole trip, & it ultimately changed me into a more positive minded person in life. Plus that was definitely my 1st totally convincingly real encounter with THEM & is one reason why I totally believe in what I choose to call ELVES as being absolutely REAL. Has not rained in forever hunting is pretty poor right now, looks like its not going to for a while, but you never know until you get out there. Thats all i will say about it as this is a "active finds" thread, not a "discuss the weather" ect thread.
Looks like I can add these:
Gymnopilus luteofolius-aeruginosus clade

My Macbook pro cooler, double as a dehydrator

Good Luck Everyone, Pray for the Rains!

I'm curious what about it makes it not look like an azurescens? To my eye it looks fairly identical to the ones I've always picked, but I must not be seeing something

I really do not think it is a Azure. I know Azures. if Azures were pinning within 50 miles I would likely know without really having to hunt...
Sup Maynard...
Tried to get a few more decent pics. I am all fucked up though. Bout to go egg something after I get tacos. get more pics, speccimes ect 2m.

"Neo" scoped em quick this afternoon. He ain't seen these before, I am sure he will be along after most are asleep to elaborate. Here are a few habitat shots. mostly old specimens, some youngins, and a few pins. If they are what I/we think they, I think this might be about the end for them.
Sup tenaciousme...Its going to be the most beautiful season ever.
I am going to post some other stuff later in Neo's thread, lots of savage shit going on right now. Go outside.
