In febuary i started a homestead ez grow kit. Around the biginning of may i gave my kit to a friend of mine figguring he could take care of it because i was moving back in with the parents. Before i gave it to him i took out a chunk of half colonised compost, and i put it in a ziplock bag and kept in a drawer. A couple of days ago i went to check on it, and it was completly colonised and there was even a pin coming off it. I was totaly suprised but i knew i couldn't really take care of it. I was reading about outdoor teks and stuff and it gave me an idea. I planted the colonised compost patty in an empty flower pot. I covered the top with grass mulch and gave it a shit load of water. I figgured if it grows thats cool, if it doesn't then whatever. My question is will this posibly work? I have the flower pot outside in a shaddy place, and its been warm. Plus there was just regular potting soil in the pot, and i don't know of mycelium can take in that. Does mycelium have to grow on compost or can it grow in rich soil too? Btw the strain is cubensis mexican.

My old cakes and casings are buried. I have a few mushroom patches growing in my yard under similar conditions.
These conditions are far from optimum. Don't expect wonderful results.

Next time search for moes outdoor tek and just do it on a smaller scale. Might give you a good little patch.

Yeah i read moes outdoor tek. Thats what kinda gave me the idea to put it outside. At the time i guess i didn't give a shit enough to go out and get compost. Im not really looking to have mind blowing results, i was just hoping that it'd be somthing that a couple shrooms would pop out of every now and then.
