What's the best way of telling a myrtillocactus from a san pedro?

Myrtillocactus have black spines, sometimes quite large. The ribs also reach a sharper peak as opposed to the more rounded appearance on Trichs.

I think the distance between spine clusters(whats that called?) ....also may be a way of telling the two apart....

dont know for sure though....anyone know?

I've noticed that too. Also, the areole is an unblemished white on Myrts whereas the areoles on Trichs have a fuzzy texture and usually an off-white/brown colouration.

LEFT rootstock is Myrtillocactus

RIGHT rootstock is Trichocereus (juvenile)

This is an upside down graft by the way, the bandages were just removed.
