The other day, i passed some farm not far away from here when i noticed a pink papaver rhoeas. It had the same flower as a somniferum (naked bright green stem). But only had 4 pink flower leaves. The leaves were those of a papaver rhoeas. The pod was something weird, bigger than a rhoeas pod but smaller than a somniferum one. Kinda like a papaver californian one. But it had a yellow colour. I thought it was a hybrid, but i didnt see any somniferum in the vicinity.
Anyone seen this before? trying to take a pic tomorrow but it has been raining very hard all day (first rain in weeks) and i m afraid those plants will be rained to dead.
Intresting to think about, would this hybrid also have hybrid alkaloids? Something new and unknown to science?
