Don't see why prayer is necessary to know there is only one thing, and nothing can be separate. Don't see how denying the credibility of prayer denies the unity of the universe.

This is out of context of the human condition being discussed. There are near-infinite forms of suffering among sentient beings.

I like learning as many new things as possible, so if there is truth in prayer I'd be willing to find it. Right now my conclusions point to that the truth of prayer was it was from an earlier time when humanity was in it's infancy, trying to make sense of the world around them. I could see it being used as a form of thinking and working through problems, but now I doubt prayer has any practical value as we have developed better techniques for understanding the mind. IMO of course.
