Organs and synths?
    #1672850 - 06/30/03 02:59 AM (13 years, 5 months ago)

I was just wondering if anyone here was really into these instruments, I've been really interested lately in these, since I tried to play a Wurlitzer, I just LOVE the sound they make. synthesizers as well, so i was just wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some sites that have some information on these kind of things....

hope this makes sense

this guy has an amazing synth/organ set-up.
he sells pc boards for various synth modules if u wanna build your own.
http://www.cgs.synth.net/

a lot of new synths coming out use digital signal processing. basically someone writes the code pumps it into a cheap chip, packages it in a cool case, with keys and flashing lights and charges $4000 for it. rip off.
if u wanna go digital get 'ez-kit lite'(dsp programming board), prices range from $100-250. then u can download dozens of different synth codes for free and have many different synths for a tenth of the price of just one. if u get really good u can programme your own designs.
if u wanna go analog, paia is a good place to start

go for it - http://www.gweep.net/~shifty/ezkit/index.html

dsp is probably not easy for beginners.

there are plenty of cheap or free software synthesizers, that work fine provided you can connect a midi keyboard to your pooter.
the best place to start learning is http://www.synthzone.com
lots of info, reviews, links and downloads.
imho analog synths are best!
